Jordan Glen Summer Camp
This summer we proudly celebrate our 30th year offering one of Florida's finest day camp programs. We are situated on 20 acres in a country setting that includes a large athletic field, swimming pool, tennis court, 2 playgrounds, 7 acres of woods, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Our air-conditioned facility has activity rooms, art deck, kitchen, and a piano that provide a friendly and informal atmosphere, as well as a multi-purpose room for large group and rainy-day activities.
The camp meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. (No camp July 4th). There are two 3-week sessions. Each of the two sessions offers different programs so that a child enrolled for the entire 6 weeks will continuously experience new activities. Campers entering kindergarten through 8th grade in Fall 2008 are invited to enroll.
Philosophy
Jordan Glen Summer Camp's main objective is for each child to enjoy his or her time spent away from home by experiencing a wide variety of activities to challenge and enrich him or her. We seek to foster a healthy self concept for each child in a caring and supportive atmosphere. Our competent staff will constantly strive to be responsive to each child's individuality as well as to the group as a whole.
Program
Camp features a different theme each week along with sports, arts and crafts, music, drama, and games; the sessions culminate with special Friday events.
Each session campers have the opportunity to choose several afternoon electives. In these special interest groups, campers may pursue interests and enjoy activities on a more indepth level such as Nature Exploration, Afternoon Sports, World Dance, or Free Swim.
Our 'Senior' campers (6th-8th graders), as well as those in certain electives, may have the opportunity to participate in some special activities and field trips. There is no extra fee for these activities.
Swimming, both morning instructional and afternoon recreational, is offered daily, weather permitting. All water activities are rigidly monitored by our certified lifeguard and camp staff.
Campers bring their lunches Monday through Thursday. Fridays will be a Pizza, Cookout, or other special lunch that we provide.
